A glamorous, infectious and danceable electronic track that opens the door to his forthcoming second album,&nbsp;<em>HIVEMIND<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the critically acclaimed&nbsp;<em>Life On Earth<\/em>, Paul Quin is entering a new chapter with&nbsp;<em>HIVEMIND<\/em>, an album that brings together new romantic, synth-pop, disco, electronic pop and Quin\u2019s distinctive storytelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDancing With The Devil\u201d is one of the tracks forming the musical backbone of the new album, and it was co-written and produced with&nbsp;<strong>Eamonn \u201cJ-Wookie\u201d Barrett<\/strong>, formerly of Irish band Royseven. The collaboration adds a strong dancefloor pulse to Quin\u2019s characteristic electronic sound, combining analogue-inspired synth textures, memorable melodies and his unmistakable vocal presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The track is the first in a series of new singles leading towards the release of&nbsp;<em>HIVEMIND<\/em>&nbsp;in December 2026. The album represents the latest chapter in a musical journey, that began in Ireland in the late 1980s and has taken Quin from early synth-pop releases and underground electronic projects to his acclaimed 2021 album&nbsp;<em>Life On Earth<\/em>&nbsp;and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the new album, Quin has also joined forces with a remarkable collection of musicians and producers. Among them is legendary UK producer&nbsp;<strong>Mark Saunders<\/strong>, whose extensive credits include David Bowie, Erasure, The Human League, Pet Shop Boys, Cyndi Lauper and Siouxsie. Saunders co-wrote and produced three tracks for&nbsp;<em>HIVEMIND<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other collaborators include Dec Quinn of Republic of Loose, orchestral arranger Gav Moran, punk musician Pete Holidai, Aidan Casserly of Empire State Human, Colm Key and sound engineer Greg Malocca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While&nbsp;<em>Life On Earth<\/em>&nbsp;explored outsiderhood, love, loss, identity and the stories of people navigating everyday life,&nbsp;<em>HIVEMIND<\/em>&nbsp;moves into a different territory. Often described as a pioneer of Ireland\u2019s electronic and electro-pop movement, Quin has consistently combined new romantic and synth-pop, electronic beats, storytelling and an individual visual identity throughout his career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Born in&nbsp;<strong>1971 in Bray, County Wicklow<\/strong>, Quin began making music as a teenager. In&nbsp;<strong>1983<\/strong>, aged just 14, he formed his first band,&nbsp;<strong>Class Symplicity<\/strong>, with school friends. The group wrote and recorded their own material and performed locally, marking the beginning of a musical journey that would eventually take Quin deep into Ireland\u2019s electronic music scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In&nbsp;<strong>1989<\/strong>, Quin became the vocalist of the synth-pop duo&nbsp;<strong>biaZarre<\/strong>, together with the late&nbsp;<strong>John Butler<\/strong>. Their double A-side single&nbsp;<strong>\u201cA Better Place \/ The Colour Of Rain\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;became a radio hit in Ireland and established Quin as a distinctive voice within the emerging Irish electronic music scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the&nbsp;<strong>1990s<\/strong>, Quin continued working across electronic music and other creative projects, including appearances on Irish dance music compilations and live performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In&nbsp;<strong>2000<\/strong>, he released the EP&nbsp;<strong>Goodbye To Mandalay<\/strong>&nbsp;under the name&nbsp;<strong>Oz<\/strong>&nbsp;through PeopleSound, one of the early online record labels. The release included collaborations with songwriter and producer&nbsp;<strong>Aidan Casserly<\/strong>, a creative partnership that would continue over the following years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the&nbsp;<strong>2000s<\/strong>, Quin continued developing his electronic sound. Under the name&nbsp;<strong>PFQ<\/strong>, he released the&nbsp;<em>Future Songs<\/em>project, which included the track&nbsp;<strong>\u201cLike A Laserbeam\u201d<\/strong>. His work during this period combined synth-driven production with melodic songwriting and electronic pop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After a period away from music, Quin returned to recording in&nbsp;<strong>2021<\/strong>, releasing a series of singles through ScentAir Records. His earlier BiaZarre song \u201cA Better Place\u201d was reimagined for a new generation, while tracks such as&nbsp;<strong>\u201cBe Yourself Girl\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>\u201cEverything I Loved I Lost That Day\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;introduced his music to a wider international audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In&nbsp;<strong>2021<\/strong>, Quin released his debut solo album,&nbsp;<em><strong>Life On Earth<\/strong><\/em>. Created over several years with Aidan Casserly and a group of Irish musicians, the album brought together analogue synths, electronic beats, live instrumentation and Quin\u2019s characteristically narrative songwriting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The album received significant Irish radio and media attention. In&nbsp;<strong>2022<\/strong>, Quin launched&nbsp;<em>Life On Earth<\/em>&nbsp;with a sold-out performance at Dublin\u2019s Pepper Canister Church, followed by further live performances with a full band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In&nbsp;<strong>2023\u20132024<\/strong>, Quin continued releasing music and performing, while&nbsp;<em>Life On Earth<\/em>&nbsp;generated further international attention. \u201cEverything I Loved I Lost That Day\u201d reached number one on Radio Indie Alliance, and Quin was nominated for&nbsp;<strong>Electro Artist of the Year 2024<\/strong>&nbsp;by UK-based Radio Wigwam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In&nbsp;<strong>2025<\/strong>, Quin was also involved in&nbsp;<em>Beautiful<\/em>, an autobiographical spoken-and-sung work created with artist Francis Fay and Dublin songwriter Se\u00e1n Millar for the Bealtaine Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In&nbsp;<strong>2026<\/strong>, Quin entered a new chapter with his forthcoming second album&nbsp;<em><strong>HIVEMIND<\/strong><\/em>.
