Having recently appeared as special guests of The Cure for three shows at the Festival de N\u00eemes in France, the UK alternative rock act And Also The Trees<\/strong> (AATT) are on tour this autumn for eleven shows in the UK, Benelux and Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group are promoting their new album, \u2018The Devil\u2019s Door\u2019, a quiet storm of a record that is by turns filmic, poetic and intense, with an undercurrent of dark psychedelia. Released in late February, it follows \u2018The Bone Carver\u2019 (2023) and \u2018Mother-of-pearl-Moon\u2019 (2024) in completing a trilogy of releases by the current line-up of what is one of the original UK post-punk acts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Featuring signature AATT tropes that include poetic lyrics, orchestral guitar and soundtrack-influenced songs inspired by newsreel, oil paintings and folklore, it also adds some surprising instrumentation \u2013 including violinist Catherine Graindorge \u2013 that skew the album towards a world where John Barry meets B\u00e9la Bart\u00f3k.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AATT was formed in 1979 in rural Worcestershire, an environment that has provided a constant inspiration to a group whose music has often explored the dark underbelly as well as the beauty of the British countryside. They are renowned for their captivating live performances, a unique style of mandolin-like electric guitar, evocative lyrics and dark jazz rhythms – not to mention a creative independence fiercely preserved for well over four decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Founded by singer Simon Jones and his guitarist brother Justin, AATT have maintained a continuous presence on the post-punk and alternative rock scenes worldwide. They have released sixteen studio albums to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
