June 19, 2026 \u2013 Boundaries unveil \u201cMay this pain never leave,\u201d the latest preview of\u00a0Yearning: the unbeautiful after<\/em>\u00a0(July 17, Sumerian Records), arriving alongside a blistering performance video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Directed by the band\u2019s longtime photographer\/videographer Sarah Holick, the video was filmed at The Webster Underground in their hometown of Hartford, Conn., where Boundaries thanked fans who attended the shoot with an intimate performance following filming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe premise of the song is laid out very plainly and intentionally,\u201d Matthew McDougal notes. \u201cIt exists as an extension of the Colin Parkes quote: \u2018The pain of grief is just as much a part of life as the joy of love; it is, perhaps, the price we pay for love, the cost of commitment<\/em>.\u2019\u201d The song was written in the wake of the 2025 plane crash that claimed the lives of Dave Shapiro, Kendall Fortner, Emma Huke, Daniel Carmelo, along with two others. \u201cWith the sudden and violent loss of a number of people close to the band this past year it became impossible to not write about the bereavement and the subsequent emotions. As much as it hurts to miss these people, I hope with all my heart it never stops so that I may miss them with the weight and significance they deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boundaries is in the final days of a European tour that has seen them perform at a number of festivals: Rock Am Ring, Rock Im Park, and Download, where Kerrang!<\/em> dubbed their set \u201cthe nastiest of the weekend,\u201d noting that \u201ctheir concussive breakdowns and barked vocals ignited a vortex of dust and flailing limbs.\u201d  The tour wraps up next week and includes upcoming outings at Jera on Air, Impericon Festival, and Vainstream Festival. The band returns to the road in the U.S. later this month, with spots at Warped Tour in Long Beach, Calif., and Louder Than Life. A six-week Fall tour with Knocked Loose begins on Sept. 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The band previously shared three songs from the forthcoming album: \u201cDeath will follow me<\/a>,\u201d \u201cSkies cast amber black<\/a>,\u201d and \u201cOnly endless<\/a>,\u201d which has been added to SiriusXM\u2019s Octane channel. Revolver<\/em> has described the new music as \u201cawesomely pissed off,\u201d Knotfest<\/em> noted the \u201cunrelenting aggression\u201d shown on the new tracks, and Rock Sound<\/em> said they\u2019re \u201cdemonstrating that they have a knack for penning a stunning melody within the chaos.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recorded in the fall of 2025 with producer Drew Fulk (Knocked Loose, Fit For A King), Yearning: the unbeautiful after<\/em> captures Boundaries at their most punishing, deliberate, and focused. The 14-track album features guest appearances from The Plot In You\u2019s Landon Tewers (\u201cCrowned and crucified\u201d) and Make Them Suffer (\u201cTorn wide open\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWith the record, we aimed to be uncompromising and really plant our flag,\u201d McDougal adds. \u201cAs more time passes, heavy music continues to lose its teeth. This genre is supposed to be threatening; it should have an edge and make you feel something. We tried to create an album with urgency.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
