Los Angeles CA – On June 26 Julez and the Rollerz<\/strong><\/a>will release their debut full-length album\u00a0Dirty Little Rock \u2018N\u2019 Roller<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0via\u00a0Lolipop Records<\/strong>\u00a0(pre-order<\/strong><\/a>). Today the band is excited to share their new single \u00a0\u201cPhaser\u201d. The song debuted at\u00a0Flood Magazine<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and is on\u00a0all streaming platforms<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for playlist consideration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the song, Vocalist\/guitarist Jules Batterman shares: \u201c\u2018Phaser\u2019 came out of a jam the band had in late 2023 at our (then ‘new’) rehearsal space, which we share with some of our favorite bands in Los Angeles. It\u2019s been part of our set now for years at this point, and it\u2019s finally coming out as the last single before our debut album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More or less, \u2018Phaser\u2019 is about the weird feeling of being an artist and accidentally turning your entire existence into a performance. Whether you\u2019re on stage, posting online, talking to people after shows, or awkwardly networking somewhere, there\u2019s this pressure to always be \u2018on\u2019 and entertaining enough to keep people paying attention. We\u2019re a band of mostly woman-presenting individuals, and we\u2019ve also been navigating the music industry while figuring out how to balance how we\u2019re perceived visually with the fact that the focus is, and always has been, our music! As mentioned in the song, sex appeal is only \u2018half\u2019 of the thrill!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Julez and the Rollerz will be playing a Los Angeles Record Release show on June 28 at Zebulon. Tickets for the show are on sale now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thematically, Dirty Little Rock \u2018N\u2019 Roller as a whole explores the passage of time within relationships, within identity and within life itself. It\u2019s a record preoccupied with growth and reckoning, with asking what remains when the noise settles and who you become when the party finally winds down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Produced, engineered and mixed by Grammy nominated producer Alex Newport at Tiny Creatures Studio in Yucca Valley, CA, the album captures the band live with a careful balance of raw performance and thoughtful layering. Newport, known for his work with artists such as Death Cab for Cutie, Bloc Party and The Mars Volta, brings both precision and weight to the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The band’s 2023 EP Is This Where The Party Is?, which leaned more heavily into scrappy garage rock and blues-tinged looseness while Dirty Little Rock \u2018N\u2019 Roller feels more polished, more emotionally direct and decidedly more mature without sacrificing bite. It is also the most theatrical the band has ever sounded, pulling from power pop and glam rock traditions with big hooks, stacked vocals and larger-than-life moments. The guitars are bold, the choruses are built to stick and there is a dramatic flair running through the record that matches its sharp self awareness. The sound is unapologetically rock-forward, trading irony for impact and leaning fully into amplified guitars and sharp-edged hooks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Formed in 2021 by Jules with a rotating lineup of collaborators, Julez and the Rollerz quickly carved out a presence in the Los Angeles underground scene with their high-energy live shows and genre-blurring early material. Their one-off single \u201cCall Me Up\u201d, released in 2025 and also appearing on the new album, marked a turning point, hinting at a sharper and more defined sonic direction that now fully materializes on Dirty Little Rock \u2018N\u2019 Roller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If earlier releases captured the chaos of youth and late nights, this album captures what comes after, the clarity, the doubt and the strange beauty of realizing you\u2019re no longer the same person you were when you started. With Dirty Little Rock \u2018N\u2019 Roller, Julez and the Rollerz prove they\u2019re not just playing dress-up in rock nostalgia.
