DreamSpy<\/strong> from Finland has released its third album titled “The Dance of Illusions”<\/em> through Inverse Records. The album’s songs are underscored by elements of dark atmospheric rock and synth-driven soundscapes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lyrics of the album wander in the turmoil of a selfish and destructive mind, seasoned with sarcasm and flashes of light. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The dance of the subconscious and the superego in the world of distortions.” <\/em>DreamSpy is an experimental solo project of vocalist-bassist Anssi Tamminen<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The focal point of the sound is an electric upright bass, coated in distortion and effects, supported by a blend of machine and traditional drum sounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Synthesizers occasionally take the spotlight weaving in and out of the sonic landscape. Guitar tracks? There are none. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tamminen’s vocal performance ranges from a fragile whisper to a resonant, baritone presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
