Australia\u2019s roving merchant of industrial synth crust, Schkeuditzer Kreuz, has released their next 7\u201d vinyl single, \u2018Keep Dancing\u2019, and will play a release party tonight (Friday, 5 June) at Sydney\u2019s Lazy Thinking, alongside Anti Itch Cream from Tokyo, Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Talking about the title track \/ A-side, \u2018Keep Dancing\u2019, Schkeuditzer Kreuz alias Kieren Hills says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKeep Dancing is a song of rebellion. It is a song about standing up for what you think is right. And it is a song of standing up for those who can\u2019t stand up for themselves. It is about sticking together and sticking around to make our voice heard in a time where we feel under constant attack. The world feels pretty bad right now, but the song is about not switching off even when that feels like the only option.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The single, \u2018Keep Dancing \u2013 Fresh Graves Mix\u2019 and its B-side, \u2018Poor Impulse Control \u2013 Three Days Deep\u2019, are both brand-new exclusive Schkeuditzer Kreuz remixes of tracks lifted from last year\u2019s widely praised Swan Grinder album. Kieren continues:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have always wanted to have a go at putting guitar with one of my songs and this seemed like the perfect one to do. So I rerecorded it with guitars as well as redoing the drums and synths to make it sound more urgent and more, well, danceable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThen the B-side \u2013 Three Days Deep: I took the original song and sped it up to 240bpm, distorted the fuck out of everything and well, we all know what Three Days Deep refers to\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The show at Lazy Thinking is part of the 10-date Kae Takahashi \/ Anti Itch Cream tour of Australia, running from 4-14 June. Kieren explains how the tour came about:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Schkeuditzer Kreuz is also using the \u2018Keep Dancing\u2019 release to make an early announcement of their own 19-date tour of Japan, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia in October this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLast week I put the finishing touches on the Asia tour, locking in a date in Kuala Lumpur. It is over four months until I leave but I am already nerve crushingly excited for it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u2018Keep Dancing\u2019 single is released on vinyl and digital formats on 5 June, with presales available on Bandcamp now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
