The narrative strips away the typical romanticizing of unrequited love to focus entirely on the consequences of selfish desire with catastrophic results. The premise is deceptively simple: a young guy uses a novelty &#8220;wish willow&#8221; to make the close friend he&#8217;s been crushing on fall in love with him. But once the wish is granted, the dynamic quickly spirals into a claustrophobic nightmare. Delivering a masterclass in slow-burn tension, the film builds deliberately toward a powerful, devastating payoff.
