He was 86.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Coe<\/strong>&#8216;s wife,&nbsp;<strong>Kimberly Hastings Coe<\/strong>, confirmed his death to&nbsp;<strong>Rolling Stone<\/strong>&nbsp;magazine, saying: &#8220;One of the best singers, songwriters, and performers of our time [and] never to be forgotten. My husband, my friend, my confidant and my life for many years. I&#8217;ll never forget him and I don&#8217;t want anyone else to ever forget him either.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;<strong>David<\/strong>&nbsp;is a musical treasure,&#8221; the representative said, adding that&nbsp;<strong>Coe<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8220;appreciated all of the fans.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A cause of death was not immediately released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>REBEL MEETS REBEL<\/strong>&#8216;s debut album was released in May 2006 via&nbsp;<strong>Vinnie Paul<\/strong>&#8216;s&nbsp;<strong>Big Vin Records<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Coe<\/strong>&nbsp;wrote all the songs with&nbsp;<strong>Dimebag<\/strong>&nbsp;around 2000, a few years before the guitarist was murdered onstage in December 2004.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Being from Texas, not only do we have rock roots, but we listen to country and blues,&#8221;&nbsp;<strong>Vinnie Paul<\/strong>&nbsp;explained to&nbsp;<strong>MTV News<\/strong>&nbsp;in early 2000. &#8220;Before our shows, we&#8217;d play&nbsp;<strong>&#8216;Jack Daniels, If You Please&#8217;<\/strong>&nbsp;off of one of [<strong>Coe<\/strong>&#8216;s] CDs&#8230;. He caught wind of it, and we went out to see him when he played Billy Bob&#8217;s. He was just a super cool dude. It was fun to check him out, and we hooked him up with a couple of our home videos, and he called us back a couple days later and just said, &#8216;Man, these fucking videos are incredible. I really dig what you guys do.&#8217; He knows more about&nbsp;<strong>PANTERA<\/strong>&nbsp;than I do now.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fast friendship soon yielded a creative partnership, as&nbsp;<strong>Vinnie Paul<\/strong>&nbsp;explained. &#8220;We started hooking up and jamming and doing some tunes, and they&#8217;re pretty unique. Some of them are just like an up-tempo thrash metal hoedown with a country and western singer,&#8221; the drummer said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"nv-iframe-embed\"><iframe title=\"Rebel Meets Rebel - Nothin&#039; To Lose\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/a33Wm50Sph0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>REBEL MEETS REBEL<\/strong>&#8216;s CD was recorded over a four-year period between 1999 and 2003 and contained a total of 12 tracks, including&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;Nothin&#8217; To Lose&#8221;<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;Rebel Meets Rebel&#8221;<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;Cowboys&#8221;<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;Panfillo&#8221;<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;Heartworn Highway&#8221;<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;One Night Stand&#8221;<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;Arizona Rivers&#8221;<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;A Man With Nothin&#8217; Ain&#8217;t Got Nothin&#8217; To Lose&#8221;<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;New York City Streets&#8221;<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;Get Outta My Life&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was originally reported that the album&#8217;s title track,&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;Rebel Meets Rebel&#8221;<\/strong>, would be a duet between&nbsp;<strong>Coe<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>PANTERA<\/strong>&nbsp;singer&nbsp;<strong>Philip Anselmo<\/strong>, but&nbsp;<strong>Vinnie Paul<\/strong>&nbsp;later said that was never the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Coe<\/strong>, who was married six times, was widely panned for his use of slurs and racial stereotypes in his songs, but he had consistently denied he was racist.
