US dream-pop duo\u00a0Magic Wands<\/strong>\u00a0have released a new EP entitled \u2018Wishing Well\u2019 today (24th April) on Metropolis Records. It includes the singles \u2018Sacred Mirrors\u2019 (a collaboration with Psychedelic Furs guitarist John Ashton) and \u2018Wishing Well\u2019, a remastered version of the 2024 single \u2018Hide\u2019, a remix of \u2018Golden\u2019 (from their 2025 album \u2018Cascades\u2019), plus the brand new songs \u2018Starline\u2019 and \u2018Yesterday\u2019s Dream\u2019.

“\u2018Starline\u2019 is a push-and-pull between fear and surrender, burning like something you can\u2019t quite hold,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>the band explain.\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s about longing, release and the moment of truth. As the lyric states, ‘will you run\u2019 or \u2018can I stay?\u2019”\u00a0<\/em>With a growing emotional intensity, the song builds into a powerful realisation: when everything else falls away, there\u2019s ‘nothing left but love\u2019<\/em>.

‘Sacred Mirrors\u2019\u00a0YouTube<\/a>\u00a0and ‘Wishing Well\u2019\u00a0lyric video<\/a>\u00a0have both been issued in 2026. The former is built around an instrumental track by John Ashton, a self-professed fan of Magic Wands. He sent it to the duo, who added further guitar, keyboards, percussion, lyrics and vocals. The latter has an insistent rhythm, swirling guitars, plus a vocal that adds to its hazy atmosphere. It sounds like an immediate post-punk meets shoegaze classic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
