Jarboe<\/strong>, the influential avant-garde artist, has shared a new video for the track \u201cFrancesca Sun<\/strong><\/em>\u201d, from her latest album \u201cSightings<\/strong><\/em>\u201d, released on 3rd April via Consouling Sounds<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the heart of \u201cSightings\u201d lies a story of connection with the natural world, a theme born from encounters that are mystical and evasive. The album\u2019s central inspiration is the vireo, a bird whose song is often heard long before its form is seen. 

\u201cSightings\u201d is an eclectic journey that seamlessly weaves together electronic and organic instrumentation. True to Jarboe\u2019s reputation as a “forward-thinking queen of unreality” (The Wire), the record features a wide range of musicians and soundscapes that transition from the dreamlike and ethereal to the aggressively experimental.

From the variations of a bird\u2019s song to immersive ambient pieces, the album is a testament to Jarboe\u2019s \u201cone-of-a-kind vocal talent\u201d. The album includes collaborators Thor Harris (Swans, Shearwater, Bill Callahan, Thor & Friends), Andrea Calderon, Brett Robinson, Chiara Lee and Freddie Murphy. 

The visual identity of \u201cSightings\u201d is further deepened by a collaboration with fellow experimental icon Phil Puleo (Swans), who provided the original painting for the album\u2019s artwork. \u201cSightings\u201d stands as the 36th solo album, and the 55th release overall, in Jarboe\u2019s career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
