Brooklyn NY — Dark practitioners of spooky rock ‘n roll, KABUKI LOVE recently released their latest offering “Out of Sight” ahead of their upcoming showcase at NYC Shimmerfest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to the concept of the track, vocalist and bandleader Rima N. shares, “Like most songs I write, “Out of Sight” came to me while doodling on my guitar. When I came up with the first few notes of the guitar riff, I knew it was a keeper, it had to be simple, catchy and high energy. I also knew I wanted it to contrast with the previous release, “Howling”, which was slower and more melancholic. “Out of Sight” had to be fun and a bit more playful. It\u2019s aggressive but bright. To me, when I compose a song, it\u2019s always melody first, then come the lyrics. I never really think it through but rather let it come naturally. It\u2019s a download. When it comes it comes, then the words start forming instinctively as a rhythmic answer to the guitar melody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the words “Out of Sight” came, I knew that would be the catchy chorus and so followed the rest of the words. \u201cOut of Sight, out of Mind, by your side I am blind\u201d\u2026It sounded fun, a bit silly and very catchy. It also felt like some kind of situation any human could connect with, a bad match kind of situation, whether it\u2019s a destructive friendship, love affair, work environment, etc. I usually like to write about existentialist subjects. This one happens to be more playful in its essence. But I like it!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born in Brooklyn during the pandemic, Kabuki Love is a rock project lead by Rima N. (Original founder, guitar, vocals). Sometimes dark, sometimes light, the project’s influences come from various genres including goth, new wave, punk, alternative, post punk and grunge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Multi dimensional, melancholic and catchy at the same time, Kabuki Love captures the essence of the current times chaos through haunting guitars and vocals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
