British guitarist, singer, and songwriter\u00a0BILLY MORRISON<\/strong>\u00a0says the filming of the video for\u00a0\u201cBecoming\u201d<\/strong>\u2014his new collaboration with\u00a0Sully Erna (Godsmack)\u00a0<\/strong>on lead vocals\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Nuno Bettencourt<\/strong>\u00a0(Extreme<\/strong>) on lead guitar\u2014was nothing less than intense and, well,\u00a0extreme<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe \u2018Becoming video\u2019 is a pure performance video that utilizes the skill and aesthetic that our director Ivo Raza brings to the table,\u201d begins MORRISON<\/strong>. \u201cSully [Erna] and Nuno [Bettencourt] both travelled to Los Angeles and we filmed in two locations: a rain room\u2014where we shot for hours through a sheet of water!!\u2014and a disused warehouse in South L.A. with a backdrop of a wall of lights. I added Erik Eldenius on drums, who played on the song, and Brett Scallions on bass, a co-writer on the song, and we used ghost lenses and other distortion techniques to represent the transition through the song that Sully\u2019s lyrics talk about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe shoot was hot, sweaty and very long, and every person, band and crew alike could not have been more accommodating,\u201d he continues. \u201cThe goal was to make a kick-ass rock video and we achieved that and much more!!\u201d Read more about the video below in a Q&A with MORRISON<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBecoming\u201d<\/a> arrived at radio on March 27 as the first single from first from MORRISON\u2019<\/strong>s upcoming album HOLLOW<\/strong> due out sometime in August via TLG | ZOID\/Virgin Music Group.  <\/strong>The powerhouse track was written by MORRISON,<\/strong> Sully Erna (Godsmack) <\/strong>and Brett Scallions; <\/strong>it features Erna<\/strong> on lead vocals and Grammy Award winner Nuno Bettencourt<\/strong> (Extreme<\/strong>) on lead guitar. According to MORRISON,<\/strong> \u201cBecoming\u201d<\/strong> is about \u201ctransforming out of the darkness and negativity of certain lifestyle choices and becoming a strong, positive and powerful force. Two years ago, BILLY MORRISON <\/strong>released THE MORRISON PROJECT<\/strong> via TLG | ZOID\/Virgin Music Group. <\/strong>It marked his third solo album (and first since 2015) and produced the #1 Active Rock Song<\/strong> (Mediabase) in America: \u201cCrack Cocaine\u201d<\/strong> featuring Ozzy Osbourne <\/strong>and Steve Stevens <\/strong>and co-written by all three artists. A deluxe edition of the album followed in 2025 and bonus track, \u201cGods Of Rock and Roll (Orchestral)\u201d\u2014<\/strong>another seismic collaboration with Osbourne <\/strong>and Stevens<\/strong>\u2014landed in the Active Rock Top Ten (Mediabase).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The upcoming HOLLOW<\/strong> <\/strong>will follow the success of 2024\u2019s THE MORRISON PROJECT<\/strong> format with 12 songs, half sung by Morrison and half sung by a handful of MORRISON<\/strong>\u2019s friends. Guests include Dexter Holland<\/strong>, Marilyn Manson<\/strong>, Chuck D<\/strong>, B Real<\/strong>, Duff McKagan<\/strong>, Steve Stevens<\/strong>, DMC<\/strong>, and the above-mentioned Sully Erna<\/strong> and Nuno Bettencourt,<\/strong> among others. \u201cForgive Me,\u201d \u201cThe Tailor,\u201d \u201cNo Suspects,\u201d \u201cAnother Day,\u201d \u201cLeave No Trace,\u201d <\/strong>and \u201cBecoming\u201d <\/strong>are <\/strong>among the song titles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
