In a new interview with\u00a0Laughingmonkeymusic<\/a>,\u00a0PRONG<\/strong>\u00a0guitarist\/vocalist\u00a0Tommy Victor<\/strong>\u00a0spoke about the status of the recording sessions for the band’s follow-up to 2023’s\u00a0“State Of Emergency”<\/strong>\u00a0album. He said (as transcribed by\u00a0BLABBERMOUTH.NET<\/strong>): ?”I’ve just finished up a new record\u2026 It’s supposed to be out in November. We’re trying to get a tour around it. And we just signed a new deal with\u00a0Napalm Records<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regarding the musical and lyrical direction of the new PRONG<\/strong> material, Tommy<\/strong> said: “This record is like a real one that doesn’t give a shit about what’s going on today. So, we just do what we do and have a good time.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added: “It’s definitely modern in its own way, but I’m still trying to do something<\/em> different, something that is different for the listener or something that is exciting, or trying<\/em> to. It’s hard, because there’s nothing new under the sun; everything’s been done.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PRONG<\/strong> released a new live album, “Live And Uncleansed”<\/strong>, on March 6 via SPV<\/strong>\/Steamhammer<\/strong>. Recorded over seven nights in July and August 2025, the LP sees Victor<\/strong> and bandmates Christopher Dean<\/strong> (bass) and Tyler Joseph<\/strong> (drums) deliver eleven powerful live songs (plus three live bonus tracks),all pure and unadulterated, authentic and honest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Formed in 1986 by Victor<\/strong> and cemented into American metal legend, PRONG<\/strong> have never released their grip on the scene. From the ’80s club basements of New York City to the MTV “Headbangers Ball”<\/strong> era with ’90s classics “Beg To Differ”<\/strong>, “Prove You Wrong”<\/strong>, “Cleansing”<\/strong> and “Rude Awakening”<\/strong>, to their official return in the late aughts and today, PRONG<\/strong> have stood their ground as household names in the metal universe, continuing to put out grippingly gritty, provocative and vital records for the next generation of heavy music fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PRONG<\/strong>‘s new partnership with Napalm Records<\/strong> was announced in June 2025. It came on the heels of the band’s European headline tour celebrating 31 years of their aforementioned 1994 album “Cleansing”<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“State Of Emergency”<\/strong> came out in October 2023 via Steamhammer<\/strong>\/SPV<\/strong>. The LP was helmed by producer Steve Evetts<\/strong> (SEPULTURA<\/strong>, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN<\/strong>) and included a cover of “Working Man”<\/strong>, originally written and recorded by the legendary RUSH<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to “State Of Emergency”<\/strong>‘s arrival, Victor<\/strong> stated about the LP’s stylistic direction: “It’s a very PRONG<\/strong> record. I think it’s totally genre-transcending and definitely ignores what’s going on out there these days.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commenting on his artistic approach, he said: “I like all kinds of music. This record totally reflects that because it covers lots of different angles.
