March 3, 2026 \u2013 Held., the trio featuring Douglas Robinson and Sal Mignano of The Sleeping alongside Coheed And Cambria\u2019s Josh Eppard, have released \u201cCONSTANT TENSION\u201d (https:\/\/held.ffm.to\/constanttension), the second preview from their forthcoming debut album, GREY (May 15, MNRK Heavy).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The five-minute track arrives on the heels of the band\u2019s debut single, \u201cNEW YOU ANTHEM FT. FRANK IERO,\u201d which Revolver praised for its \u201clightning-strike guitar\u2026 and thunderous drums,\u201d Alternative Press dubbed as \u201crousing,\u201d and idobi called a \u201cdazzling post-hardcore tune.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where Held.\u2019s introduction leaned into catharsis through connection, \u201cCONSTANT TENSION\u201d presents a more unsettled dynamic. Directed by Adam Thomson, the accompanying video builds on the story arc introduced with \u201cNEW YOU ANTHEM,\u201d providing a sci-fi-esque visual companion to the themes behind GREY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2019CONSTANT TENSION\u2019 stems from an everlasting battle within myself to embrace who I am via internal reflection,\u201d Robinson explains. \u201cIt\u2019s all of my strengths fighting against all of my weaknesses. There is a \u2018constant tension,\u2019 a violent push and pull within my mind every single day. I let myself down so much, to the point where I often feel like I have to somewhat abandon myself and step outside to try and see the bigger picture, but the hurt inside of me pulls me back into my own thoughts. I go completely blank to try and focus, which oddly enough resorts to more tension, and more clouded thoughts. It feels like an endless cycle. The lyrics to \u2018CONSTANT TENSION\u2019 mirror all of this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The band has also announced an intimate GREY listening party this Thursday, March 5, at Selva in Brooklyn. Held. will be on hand from7 to 10 p.m., and no RSVP is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On GREY, Held. channel decades of collective experience into a debut that reflects both creative evolution and personal reckoning. \u201cThe album as a whole truly feels like it\u2019s everything I have ever wanted to write in my time growing as a musician,\u201d Robinson says. \u201cThis record has, in many ways, healed me\u2026. or, it\u2019s at least trying to.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
