February 23, 2026 \u2013 Tomahawk return to the road this summer for their first live performances in 13 years, with the month-long U.S. run marking the band\u2019s 25th anniversary and reuniting Tomahawk with labelmates the Melvins for their first tour together since 2003\u2019s \u201cGeek Show\u201d trek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Featuring Duane Denison, Mike Patton, John Stanier, and Trevor Dunn, Tomahawk last toured in support of 2013\u2019s Oddfellows <\/em>before returning in 2021 with Tonic Immobility<\/em>, which was released during the pandemic and never performed live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Denison says of the upcoming outing: \u201cIn the spirit of the Olympics, Team Tomahawk has decided to rise up and go for the gold once again \u2013 also competing will be our cohorts the Melvins.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis tour is a no brainer. I can\u2019t wait. A Melvins\/Tomahawk trek will be a stone groove,\u201d says Buzz Osborne, who brings the Melvins out in their four-piece incarnation featuring Osborne, Dale Crover, Steven McDonald, and Coady Willis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tomahawk \u2014 guitarist Duane Denison (the Jesus Lizard, The Unsemble, etc.), vocalist Mike Patton (Mr. Bungle, Faith No More, Fant\u00f4mas, etc.), drummer John Stanier (Helmet, Battles, etc.), and bassist Trevor \u201cfield mouse\u201d Dunn (Mr. Bungle, Fant\u00f4mas, etc.) \u2014 show up just when we need them. The first time was in 2001 with the self-titled Tomahawk<\/em>. Following Mit Gas <\/em>(2003) and Anonymous<\/em> (2007), they dropped Oddfellows<\/em> during 2013. It marked their best chart debut, reaching #9 on the Billboard<\/em> Top Independent Albums Chart. Not to mention, critics really got it! The A.V. Club<\/em> gave it a grade of \u201cA-,\u201d Revolver Magazine<\/em> rated it \u201c4-out-of-5 stars,\u201d and Pitchfork<\/em> chimed in, saying \u201cthis lurid, thorny, profoundly weird music \u2014 just comes tearing out.\u201d All kinds of touring and festivals followed before the members went back to their gazillion other gigs in 2014. Then on their 20th anniversary, they finally returned with their fifth full-length album, Tonic Immobility<\/em>, and now on their 25th anniversary, they have returned to the stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Formed in 1983 in Montesano, Washington, the Melvins are one of modern heavy music\u2019s most influential bands. Led by Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover and currently featuring Steven McDonald (Redd Kross) and Coady Willis (Big Business, High on Fire), the band has released more than 30 albums across a four-decade career that helped shape the sound of heavy music. Their latest release, Tarantula Heart,<\/em> arrived last year, with a new collaborative album with Napalm Death, Savage Imperial Death March<\/em>, due this Spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
