The US electro-industrial act Flesh Field<\/strong> have released a brand new album entitled \u2018On Enmity\u2019 today (20th February) on Metropolis Records. \u201cThis record contains the most personal material that I have ever written,\u201d <\/em>states group founder Ian Ross. \u201cIt documents the aftermath of trauma; the dissection of damage and the endurance that follows when survival becomes an involuntary act of defiance in and of itself. It’s not about recovery. It’s about adaptation to ruin.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preceded by the single \u2019Supplication\u2019, a song that Ross has previously explained “explores the ache of longing for what is absent and will never return,\u201d<\/em>  \u2018On Enmity’ follows remastered 2025 reissues of the first two Flesh Field albums, \u2018Viral Extinction\u2019 (1999) and \u2018Belief Control\u2019 (2001), which themselves came after Ross had resurrected the group in 2023 to release a new album entitled \u2018Voice of the Echo Chamber\u2019, followed by the companion piece \u2018Voice Of Reason\u2019 EP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s orchestral, it\u2019s hard, it has sharp lyrics and vocals, and a lot of vitriol baked into its commentary on the contemporary American psyche. Kind of recalls \u2018Year Zero\u2019 era Nine Inch Nails – not a bad thing in the slightest\u201d<\/em><\/strong> I DIE: YOU DIE<\/p>\n\n\n\n
