Legendary rockers CHEAP TRICK<\/strong> returned to the iconic Budokan in Tokyo, Japan on October 1, 2025. The eight-and-a-half-minute short film below captures the beautiful bond shared by CHEAP TRICK<\/strong>, the country of Japan and the band’s incredible Japanese fans \u2014 a bond as alive today as it was in 1978 when CHEAP TRICK<\/strong> first played Budokan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The short film was produced by Silent Trade<\/strong> for BMG<\/strong> and CHEAP TRICK<\/strong> and was directed by Nick Dwyer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this week, CHEAP TRICK<\/strong> announced two shows in Las Vegas where the group will play “At Budokan”<\/strong>, the 1978 album captured at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, in its entirety, along with CHEAP TRICK<\/strong>‘s other hits. “Cheap Trick At Budokan \u2013 Live In Las Vegas”<\/strong> will take place April 17 and 18, 2026, at The Venetian Theatre inside The Venetian Resort Las Vegas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A ticket presale is underway, with tickets going on sale to the general public Friday, November 21 at 10 a.m. PT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“At Budokan”<\/strong> was CHEAP TRICK<\/strong>‘s first live album, and went on to become the band’s best-selling album, having been certified triple platinum by the RIAA<\/strong>. In 2019 it was chosen by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Recording Registry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
