CHICAGO, IL:\u00a0Thursday, June 19, 2025\u00a0<\/strong>\u2014 Pre-orders for\u00a0The Violent Hour,\u00a0<\/em>the upcoming\u00a0debut EP from Carla Harvey and Charlie Benante, will be available tonight beginning at 9:00PM ET at\u00a0https:\/\/orcd.co\/theviolenthour<\/a>.\u00a0The project was spearheaded by lyricist\/vocalist Harvey, who wrote all songs\u2019 lyrics, and musician\/songwriter Benante, who produced the EP, composed the music, and played all instruments.\u00a0The EP also features John 5 (Marilyn Manson, Motley Crue) playing lead on the track \u201cSick Ones,\u201d guitarist Zakk Wylde on \u201cHell or Hollywood,\u201d and, with the exception of Crobot vocalist Brandon Yeagley singing on the track \u201cPortland, Oregon,\u201d Carla Harvey delivered all vocals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWriting this EP was a liberating experience,\u201d said Carla.\u00a0\u201cWhen I started, I felt lost\u2026but by the time I sang the last note, I had found\u00a0myself again.\u00a0From the beginning,\u00a0I wanted the music to come out organically: no agenda, just whatever needed to be released. I\u2019ve been immersed in a world of guttural screaming for so long, but when I sat down to write my own material, what came out felt lighter\u2014like I was reconnecting with parts of myself I hadn\u2019t explored in years. It reminded me of why I fell in love with music in the first place. Writing became fun again. This EP reflects all sides of me: it\u2019s made by the 16-year-old who loved everything from Lynyrd Skynyrd to thrash metal, the grit and riot girls of the \u201990s, and the danger of Guns N\u2019 Roses. It\u2019s raw and it\u2019s real. Working with Charlie on these songs was a dream. He is so talented and he really inspired me to be better; I couldn’t have made this album without him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Said Benante, who also conceived the EP\u2019s cover art, \u201cCarla was my Muse in all of this, I was inspired and motivated by her to write the songs that fit her voice. Once we got started, it was that lightening-in-a-bottle-feeling. I think that this EP, when people hear it – I don\u2019t care if you\u2019re 13, 33, or 63 – I think you\u2019re going to feel the power of it.\u00a0And I think that once the songs and the choruses hit you, it\u2019s going to be unstoppable, it\u2019s going to be infectious, and this just might become your favorite new band.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n
