Out digitally now on Metropolis Records, with a CD format to follow on 9th May, ‘Protection Spells’ is the third full length album by Ships In The Night<\/strong>, the solo project of sorceress of sound Alethea Leventhal. It is a bold and powerful collection of dark pop songs informed by trauma, magic, darkness and hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As its title suggests, ‘Protection Spells’ presents a set of incantations written by Leventhal that are intended to inspire strength, focus and change in grim times. The distinct electronic production style of the New York City-based songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer is complemented by the mesmerising quality of her passionate yet precise vocal arrangements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transporting its listeners to bewitching heights, \u2018Protection Spells\u2019 is a balm for a harrowing age as they are guided through the soaring pinnacles of present power and the raw depths of past grief. The sheltering hold remains as they are swirled through the maelstrom of its many mystical emotional moments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The album includes the singles ‘Some Of Those Dreams\u2019 and \u2018Blood Harmony\u2019.

Ships In The Night will present \u2018Protection Spells\u2019 in a live set at The Black Lodge Ball on 9th May. Taking place at the Fallout RVA venue in Richmond, Virginia, the event is also a celebration of the life and work of the late film director David Lynch with Bobby Metronome and Xris Smack providing Lynch-inspired DJ sets. INFO<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
