Dave Ganz invited me out to his place at the burbs for one of our Metal Nights with friends. It wasn’t something I could easily afford being that I’m in between contracts at work and am only getting a few hours a week at this time. I get together with this crew only once a year if even. They are all family guys with kids so getting together isn’t very easy at all. I love these guys so not only do I miss hanging with them I really needed it at this time. So Friday I got the smallest payday from work than I’ve had in the 6 plus years I’ve been in their employ but I really needed to get out there and be with some good, successful and positive friends. I paid a few bills and confirmed with Dave that he could pick me up at Joey’s Red Hot’s just outside of the New Lenox Metra train station at 3 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However my long journey had another obstacle that had nothing to do with finances. It was Saturday March 15th not only the 9th anniversary of my hip replacement surgery, it was the weekend I dread the most living in Chicago., The fucking St Patrick’s Day parade and dying of the river greens. Droves of humans at their height of stupidity and getting totally wasted. I almost didn’t go just because of this but as I mentioned I needed to get the fuck out of dodge if even for just 1 night. It is literally hundreds of thousands of people from everywhere openly drinking in public and the transit systems. And they don’t stop there, afterwards they head to the Rush Street ara or in my area Wrigleyville where streets are closed off so people can stumble drunkenly with no concern of traffic accidents.<\/p>\n\n\n

The river will be dyed, the parades will march and the bars will be at full vomit-inducing capacity. Additionally, the weather is agreeable to both drunken revelers and subsequent walks of shame while fueling the usual nonsense elsewhere around town. – www.heyjackass.com<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

I took the Red Line to the Brown Line (see Belmont Transfer) in order to arrive in the west loop to take the Metra from the Lasalle Station. Both trains were packed elbow to asshole. Everyone was drinking openly. These were college kids from Northwestern University, Loyola and DePaul all headed downtown to partake in the annual tradition that dates back to 1962. The girls were all dressed very provocatively and were attractive and very drunk and it was only 10 30 AM. I thought the Brown Line would be different but it was not. I got to Quincey feeling that I had escaped my personal hell. I was wrong.I got to the Lasalle Metra station and there were hundreds of drunk high school kids from the suburbs. Almost all of them carrying gallon milk jugs full of booze and openly swilling it in front of CPD officers who looked the other way. . There were porta potties but the young teen suburban boys just whipped out their love guns and pissed right out in the opening broad daylight. I am far from being an angel but I’ve never done that as I choose if nature calls to be as discreet as possible. They were young drunk and loud and all of the teen girls dressed exactly the same. low waist jeans and belly shirts baring their young midriffs. I’m thinking its early and they still have to get home. My father would have beat the living hell out of me if I had ever come home like that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will read below that Sunday afternoon I discovered what the gallon jugs were all about thanks to Greg Drunken. Its called BORG. Of course he would know. <\/p>\n\n\n
